Armor

Anything made of real or fake leather can be made into leather armor or vests. As well, there are many other options to consider: scale mail, hides, chain mail, various degrees of plate armor, and anything else your imagination can think up. Legends does judge unconventional armor on an individual basis, so you may want to call ahead and bounce any unusual ideas off us. We also have a "minimum" standard, anything we consider cheap-looking or cheesy will not be awarded armor points. But that doesn't mean you can't wear it!

There are people who make real and costume armor for LRPGs and historical groups. It's usually not cheap, but it's fun to feel the steel of a real chain shirt jangle when you wear it. Contact Legends or search the World Wide Web under LARPs or LRPGs.

If you want to try to make your own plate mail, we suggest either lightweight aluminium sheets or plastics such as ABS or high-impact polystyrene. Plastic coated with quality spray paint looks very authentic. If you use metal (including aluminum) be SURE to cover any exposed edges with something (leather is ideal, layers of duct tape will suffice).
