Heyo, folks!

It's that time again, S&C is having an event this weekend! If you would like to go and crunch, you will get CP at Legends for doing so. Amount of CP based on how long you stay and how helpful / useful you are according to the senior staff there. Additionally, you get to beat on me, Steve, Brendan, Tom and Duncan (among other Legends folks).

If you're interested, please email staff@be-epic.com and also remember to visit their site to get familiar with rules and all that jazz (Be Epic).

Your PELs and BGS are due this Friday night by midnight.

Plot Writers!

by Steven Weinacht (out-of-game)
on Tue May 15 20:12:07 2012

Have a creative streak? Do you like to write short stories, or run D&D/tabletop games? Have you ever had crazy Legends Dreams that you think would make a great plot? Then let us know! We are looking for those of you out there that would like to contribute to the development of the world and make the gaming experience all the more exciting for you and your friends.

Were looking for people who want to write and run plots for our game! We love plot writers and invite all of you to share your ideas with us.

Feel like you could do it full time for the game? Full time staff and plot writers will be rewarded with Insulated/closed buildings to sleep in (no drafty cabins), hot clean showers, a personalized storage space for your LARP gear, and BACON. That's right, BACON!! We provide crisp bacon every morning for our staff and lots of hot coffee. We also offer hippy granola type treats for those opposed to the magical Pork Beast.

If you're interested in joining the plot writing force (that's right, were a Force, not just a team) let us know and we can send you the guidelines.

Insults for Legends

My sister-in-law just sent this in response to the "Duel at Blood Creek" short. It's a quick reference to Shakespearean insults:

Have car, need co-driver

by Bertha Tang (out-of-game)
on Mon May 14 20:00:37 2012

My darling husband and chauffeur will be out of the country for the next event, and I detest driving by myself. Is there anyone who'd be willing to share the drive to and from Boston? I usually head out from Kendall Square around 6pm.

Treasure Cache

by Derick Fox (Andrew Martell) (in-game)
on Mon May 14 08:03:24 2012

To those who last moon participated in the Professor's Treasure Hunt, how do you want to decide who goes first for picking a item? I for one am thinking of just drawing lots or rolling a die to figure out an order to draw from the pool.

Please contact me privately with your thoughts on this.

Shields

by Andrew Martell (out-of-game)
on Sat May 12 13:12:28 2012

Is it possible to make a tower shield or just the size that is listed in the rulebook?

And would it be viable to go two shields and get someone to cast spell shields on you?

Just some random ideas we were throwing out I wanted to get answers for.

Pretty Please, Submit your PELs

by John Ranson (out-of-game)
on Mon May 7 16:02:00 2012

You should be able to submit your PELs, and I highly encourage you to do it while the event is fresh in your mind. PELs help staff write plot that you guys like. Y'all were amazing last event; we got forty PELs from fifty players.

A couple notes on PEL writing:

We highly encourage you to write your PEL in a text editor, like Notepad, before copying it into the website. However, please don't write your PEL in Microsoft Word and copy it to the website. We won't be able to read it.

Summaries are great. We really appreciate an at-a-glance summary, either at the top of your PEL or heading each section.

There are two boxes for submitting your PEL. One box says that the information within only goes to the game owners. Don't put comments that you want available to all plot writers in that box.

First session

by Andrew Martell (out-of-game)
on Mon May 7 14:08:40 2012

Just want to say that I had a awesome time this past weekend at my first time with Legends. I had done a few other boffer larps but this was certainly the most fun I've ever had at one before. I'll certainly be attending as often as I can.

I do have one question about bows. Is there any kind in particular people would suggest I should look into? I'm looking mainly for a crossbow to use.

Broken mace?

by George Bieber (out-of-game)
on Sun May 6 22:26:11 2012

Hey, does anyone know what happened to my broken mace? If it's still around somewhere, I'd love to recover the pieces. I'm probably not going to rebuild it as-is, but would probably hang on to the head of the mace at least. If it got tossed in the trash, not a big deal.

Hi All!

The Silver Kingdom Renaissance Festival is being held Jun 16-17 this year. We have tons of great entertainers, a nice selection of vendors, good food, and of course some juicy plot for you to watch or get involved in.

We are also featuring boffer tournaments - for sword, florentine, 2-handed, and sword and shield. Each tournament will have 3 grades of competition - master, apprentice, youth - so that everyone can have a shot at glory.

So bring yourself, your friends, your family for a nice day out. Sunday is Father's Day - make dad a hero!

There will be a fire circle on the 6th night

by Rafael (Eben Lowe) (in-game)

In the usual spot near the grove, weather permitting. Or maybe even in the pouring rain. Raf bring whiskey again for sure. And maybe sausages this time. All who come in peace are welcome.

Running for Town Council

by Sir Cyrus Graymask (Dennis Adams) (in-game)
on Thu May 3 02:01:00 2012

I wish to formally announce that i have decided to run for the open town council position. I know this announcement comes late, however i have made this decisions based on the fact that the people who are running seem to have no plans and are just running. And for those of you who don't know me, my name is Sir Cyrus Graymask.

My plans may not count for as much as the settlement may need of me, but this is due to the fact i have only been here for a moon. At this time, i am going to focus on the town guard (or lack there of), find ways that will get more settlers to join and offer them what support I can. The other thing i will be looking into is the enforcement of the town laws upon everyone, fairly.

Now, i know that these two things are probably out of what i can do right now, but like i said, i will be looking into them if elected and may need some time. If your not sure you want to vote for me, or would like to bring other questions to my attention, feel free to talk to me this coming moon. See you all there, and let the best man, women, or kia win.

-Sir Cyrus Greymask

RBTC

by Baldassaire Rossi (in-game)
on Wed May 2 23:01:30 2012

Due to a discrepancy with a contact, I have had to raise the price on mispronounce sales from here on out. However, the new stash I will be selling should have some intriguing after effects.

I will be in Holdfast this moon, representing the RBTC. If anyone wants to arrange a pre-order, I will have it when I come into town.
